Joao Rodrigues is set to make another criminal court appearance at the Palmridge High Court in Germiston tomorrow (29 October 2020) in court DC13 before Monama J at 10.00.
This matter is expected to be postponed again pending his 342A application which has been set down to be argued virtually, before the SCA in Bloemfontein on Friday, 06 November 2020.
27 October 2020 marked the 49th anniversary of the death of anti apartheid activist Ahmed Timol for which Rodrigues has been charged. This emanated from the 2017 reopened inquest that saw the suicide verdict of the 1972 inquest court finding into the death of Timol, been reversed.
