Who is Dr. Essop Jassat?
Dr. Essop Jassat devoted his medical, political and social life to the service of humanity for more than 70 years in South Africa. He endured arbitrary banning orders, imprisonment and trial for high treason under Apartheid.
About the book
This biography shows that the development processes of his character and South African history respectively, were deeply interwoven.
From his experiences he innovated the new health promotion model to counter the prevailing biomedical model in the struggle against diseases and social evils.
