DAY 1: RE- OPENING OF THE AHMED TIMOL INQUEST

Starts at 10:00 at the Johannesburg High Court , Room GC, ground floor. Proceedings commence with the opening address by Judge Billy Mothle; Advocate Howard Varney representing the Timol Family followed by Dr TP Pretorious who will be representing the State. The first witness will be Captain Bel Nel (Investigating Officer) followed by Dr Saleem Essop, who was detained with Ahmed Timol on the 22nd October 1971.
