SACP 14th CONGRESS SPECIAL RECOGNITION AWARD CONFERRED POSTHUMOUSLY TO COMRADE AHMED TIMOL

SACP 1

The Timol family is honoured to receive posthumously this award in memory of my Uncle, Comrade Ahmed Timol. We receive this award at a time when we are in the middle of the re-opening of the inquest into my Uncles death in security police custody 45 years ago at the John Vorster Square Police Station. The inquest continues on the 24th July 2017 at the North Gauteng High Court, Pretoria.

The death in police custody of Comrade Timol and all other political detainees must serve as an inspiration for us to continue to defend the gains of the National Democratic Revolution and positively contribute to the building of our beloved country. We can never forget the sacrifices of all our fallen comrades and we must continue to preserve their legacies.
